Many customers need to know what size they need when purchasing casters. But if you ask carefully, the load, installation method, and material requirements are mostly unclear. Therefore, as a professional caster manufacturer , our salesmen ask more questions when communicating with customers. Many customers don't understand, it's just a wheel, where do so many things come from. It was really fragrant at the end. Let's talk about a few basic concerns when choosing casters .

① Size: Generally speaking, the larger the diameter of the caster wheel, the less effort it will push and the better the ability to pass obstacles . Casters are generally expressed in inches . The commonly used sizes are 2 inches, 2.5 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches, 6 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches , 12 inches , etc. Generally, it is better to use 4-6 inch casters for those that often need to be pushed, such as supermarket shopping carts, logistics trolleys, and tool carts . However, if the diameter of the caster is too large, the center of gravity of the equipment will rise and the cost will increase, so a comprehensive consideration must be made.

②Installation method: There are many installation methods for casters, including bottom plate type, bolt type, square rod type, spring rod type, cylindrical rod type, octagonal rod type, welded pipe type, hole top type, etc. Generally, screw rods, insert rods, circlips, etc. can be used for light loads , and base plates for heavy loads, or directly welded to the equipment.

③Brakes: In terms of function, there are wheel brakes, brake brackets, and double brakes when the two brakes are the same. There are also tread brakes, front brakes, side brakes, etc.

④ Caster layout : For the same piece of equipment, the location and number of casters are different, the choice of casters is also different , and the feeling of pushing is also very different . It is better to communicate with caster manufacturers based on their own situation.

⑤ Bracket: It is divided into directional and universal. The material is generally carbon steel, which can be electroplated, such as galvanized, copper-plated, nickel-plated, chrome-plated, sprayed, etc., and stainless steel is also available.

⑥Load : For casters of the same diameter, the general manufacturers will produce several series for different loads, such as light, medium, and heavy . When calculating the load of a single caster, a certain safety factor should be given. When the ground is relatively flat, the load of a single caster = (total weight of the equipment ÷ the number of casters installed) × 1.2 ( safety factor); if the ground is uneven, the load of a single caster = The total weight of the equipment is ÷3, because no matter what kind of uneven ground, there are always at least 3 wheels supporting the equipment at the same time. This algorithm increases the safety factor and is more reliable, preventing insufficient load-bearing, which will greatly reduce the life of the casters or cause accidents.

⑦Wheel material: very many. Generally, there are UC, T PU, TPR, TPE, PP, PVC, PH, PA, rubber, nylon , etc. It is very important to choose according to the applicable temperature, ground environment , driving frequency, driving speed , etc.
